The short version
The calculators on this site run entirely in your browser. The measurements you type are never transmitted anywhere, never stored on a server, and never associated with you — the only thing the site keeps is your choice of feet or metres, saved locally in your own browser so the toggle is where you left it next time.
There is no account to create, no newsletter, and no contact form collecting details. The site is funded by display advertising, and the ad network sets its own cookies and processes data under its own policy; the ad disclosure explains that arrangement and what it does and does not affect, and the privacy policy covers it in full.
The terms of service set out the one thing worth saying plainly here: every calculator is provided as a free tool for estimating, not as professional advice. The arithmetic is exact and tested, but a square footage figure derived from your own measurements is not a survey, an appraisal or a contractor's quote, and it should not be relied on as one. How each figure is computed, and which reference numbers are estimates rather than sourced data, is documented on the methodology page.
